Newest Circle One team member Jaime Russell has just returned from Devil's Rock, Morrocco where over a three day period he competed against the top 21 Junior Surfers in Europe to finish 13th . Jamie finished 3rd, 1st and 3rd in his 3 tough heats. Unfortunately he was not able to find enouh points in the marginal 2-3ft conditions to really challenge the top spots. Jamie states " I could have done better...The conditions weren't great but i will get it next time though ! "
Congratulations as Matt Capel Claims 5th in UK Pro Tour
Circle One Team rider Matt Capel completed the final round of the UK Professional Surf Tour to finish in 5th Place. The finishing stages of the tour saw some nail bitting action as the leading competitors were extremely close on points coming in to the triple crown events in Scotland and Northern Ireland. Unfortunately Matt's hopes of a podium finish to the tour were dashed as the surf failed to deliver in the final two events leaving Matt searching for elusive points that did not materialise. This is a strong finish to the year which saw some of the most talented surfers ever to compete on the tour provide extremely tough competition
Matt has now returned to his home waves of East Austarlia where he will be sure to be training hard before mounting assaults on both the UK and European Tours next Season..

Rescue Sled Gets Thumbs Up from Newquay Lifesavers
Pictured above on a Circle One Rescue Sled is Jeremy Griffith Centre owner and Head of Water Safety, Lusty Glaze with a colleague at a recent Watergate Bay Zapcat event. Whilst on safety patrol the pair kindly agreed to test the recently updated Sled from our Surf Lifesaving Range of boards. They found that the design and build improvements have provided extra stability and speed, both critical when dealing with casualties involved in severe accidents. You can see footage of the sled in action on UKTV's Seaside Rescue which follows the work of brave Coastal Rescue teams.
Circle One Demos at Poole Windfest 2008

Circle One boards were a popular choice amongst the many demos available at this year's Windfest event held at Sandbanks, Poole from 12-14th Sept. Our new range of Surf Kiteboards and Stand Up Paddleboards were put to the test by a range of riders from the highly experienced to completely novice and we're pleased to say that feedback on performance was really positive. Successfully organised yet again by FC Watersports, this was the 10th Anniversary Windfest, attended by an impressive estimate of 10,500 members of the public. It was the ideal opportunity for the Public to 'have a go' at a new sport or get advancement tips from pro-riders and for the Sports Industry to showcase a range of the latest techincal gear available.

For the 2nd year running, Circle One was a main sponsor of the highly successful Skim Contest organised by Torbay stockist Sandskater on Sunday 17th August at Preston Sands, Paignton.

Original Surfer Shapers Talk Board Designs of Tomorrow (April '08)
Jeff Townsley's latest trip to the Far East led to a fantastic chance meet with fellow Surfer Shaper Originals Tak Kawahara from California (above left) and Larry Birtleman from Hawaii (above right). All three were attending the board manufacturing base where Jeff first began pioneering Epoxy Custom Boards seven years ago and where Tak and Larry recently started to have their own designs developed. It was a golden opportunity to share thoughts and ideas about board designs old and new and with emails flying since their return, there's no knowing what these mega shapers may be cooking up in the months ahead...
Junior Longboarder Pete Hill Joins Circle One as Team Rider (March '08)
Talented Junior Longboarder Pete Hill from Barnstaple, North Devon, is the latest signing to the Circle One Team Rider team. At eighteen years of age, Pete has masses of potential and impressed the Circle One crew with his fluid style and monster enthusiasm for the sport.
Asked why Pete won support above many other requests for sponsorship, Jeff Townsley, Circle One Owner and Director explained 'It was clear when we watched Pete that he has real flair on a longboard - he has that classic graceful style but adds his own contemporary twist to this. He's exactly the kind of young talent that we want to support and see develop on the junior surf scene.'

2007 saw Pete regularly competing on the junior scene including the North Devon Inter-Schools contest where he was the highest placed longboarder in 5th place. Look out for him at this year's events later in the year - he has a packed competition schedule that includes the English Nationals and the Britsh Longboard Club Championships.
