Unfortunately in a field of 40 surfers Robert lost out on a top ten placing by just few points. He is confident for the start of the 2009 competitive season where he will be moving uo into the Pro Junior catagory. I began surfing in 1998 at Bantham, South Devon where I got the stoke. During this time I has competed in a number of competitions, and had reached some finals, including the Newquay Boardmasters.
I have a passion for surfing in which competing plays a part, but you will always find me free surfing whenever there are waves, clean, or rough, or flat sometimes.
I have travelled to only a few places, but I'm planning more for the future. So far I have surfed Lanzarotte, the east coast of America, and Sri Lanka (photos can be found on livesurfcams).
At the moment I am riding a 5'6" squash tail Xpose board, and a 5'8" swallow tail Xpose board. I have adapted my 5'6" to accept HO2 fins which in anything up to slightly over head for me works really well for me. When the waves get bigger than that (watch out Al) I ride my 5'8", both boards are fast and manoeuvrable.
I will continue to compete in our domestic events, so please come and say hello, and support me.
